Ages: 3 to 13 years Hours of operation: Curriculum: Along with the children’s individual habilitation goals there are special activities planned daily for the children's participation.
Weekly Program: Our weekly program is focused on working on children’s individual habilitation goals. Children are matched with a provider who best meets his/her needs. Providers work with the family to help children master their habilitation goals, as well as any informal goals the family has for their child. Children work one-on-one with providers and participate in individual group activities. Saturday Program: The Saturday program is an extension of our weekly program. The program runs three Saturdays each month from 10:00am until 3:00pm. Children are encouraged to bring lunch money so they can develop community self help skills. By going to a restaurant, they can learn how to choose, order their own food and act appropriately in a public setting. Some children can count their money and pay for his/her own food as well.
Parents Date Night: When the children stay late the parents can play! Well, the children play too. Once a quarter we stay open late, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm, and have a special night at the center where we play games and participate in special activities. Seasonal Celebrations: Every summer we have a special theme where we learn about and explore a new topic. At the end of the summer the children participate in a program to share what they have learned with their family and friends. Throughout the year special activities are planned to celebrate seasons and holidays. Guthrie Groovers: A high energy dance class designed specifically for children with physical and learning disabilities. Children learn a new type of dance every month and are taught by certified Guthrie Divas with dance experience. Class are held three Saturdays a month from 9:00am to 10:00am. |
